I explained myself very poorly yesterday, for which I apologise. I'll try and get it right today.
I'm not asking people to post comments on a fic in progress. I don't write that way (and I don't like reading fics written that way). I write an entire novel and then post it as a complete entity. It has to be that way as there are interweaving plots for Asgard, Tok'ra, Jaffa and Sam/Jack, and Cassandra and Maybourne. Each plotline will interact with one or more of the other ones, so I need to write the entire thing (not always in chronological order) and then do a massive edit to get it all correct and internally consistent.
What I'm hoping for is for people to read the first novel in the trilogy (which functions reasonably well as a stand alone) (and hopefully the second as well) and then comment saying that they'd like to read the third part of the trilogy if I complete it.
I just want to be reassured that there are at least a dozen people who will read it if I put in the work to write the third volume. (I'm currently working on a bit about Janet and Cassandra, but realised last night that Daniel should logically be in the scene, so will rewrite that - which is one of many reasons why I don't post in sections, as I do a lot of rewriting.)
The original two novels are old enough that they were first published as actual fanzines, and sold reasonably well in that form (on a non-profit basis, obviously). If I complete volume three, then I'll probably print a paper copy just for my own enjoyment, but expect everyone else to prefer it on AO3.
Some kind soul posted kudos on the first novel yesterday, so that's going to power me through rewriting added Daniel into the current scene.
For anyone else willing to give me a morale boost, here's the first novel - https://archiveofourown.org/series/287642
(It's a story that's haunted me over the years. I've written masses of fanfic, but this is the only one that I keep coming back to.)
